Our staff are the backbone of William Paterson, but they are increasingly overworked and asked to do more with less. Staff take on more work with less support, while the institution balances its budget on our backs. It’s time to stand together and demand the respect fair policies, and support necessary to carry out the University’s mission!
Meeting Accessibility
Many staff members cannot attend during the common hour due to student needs. The union should offer alternate meeting times and streaming options to increase participation. We promise to listen to staff and follow through on your needs.
Work-from-Home Consistency
WFH policies vary widely by office. We need a fair, campus-wide policy ensuring equal access to remote options where duties allow.
Understaffing and KPIs: Many positions remain unfilled, and staff are taking on more work. We need to advocate for adequate staffing and reasonable KPIs so that everyone can perform successfully in their position.
Grievances: All members need more education on the Contract to recognize potential violations. The grievance process should be more collective (to protect individual members) and transparent, so we can track grievances to identify larger patterns of Contract violations.
Professional Development Funds: Staff need opportunities to attend workshops, trainings, and conferences that help them do their jobs better. We will work to restore these funds.
